It's still December, it's valid, these traditional cookies have flour, sugar, and butter. They turned out DELICIOUS and invite us to share a special moment with friends and family.
1. In a bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and cream cheese for 5 minutes, or until the sugar granules are not felt as much. Add the eggs and vanilla extract.
2. In another bowl, mix all the dry ingredients: flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and baking powder.
3. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients with the wet ones and mix with a spoon or spatula.
4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours (the dough can be frozen and stored for several weeks to make the cookies later).
5. On a floured surface, roll out and cut the cookies. Place them on a lightly buttered baking sheet and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12 minutes.
For the icing, mix 1/2 egg white with 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract until creamy.
